This is the busiest time of the year at Prairie Pines! Within a three week period, we close and begin breakdown of our Halloween event, open our Dinner Theater, and open our Christmas Tree Farm. Thankfully, we have a lot of trusted friends and family that are here along side us. Without each and every one of them, we could never get it all done.
This week, premium pre-cut trees are being delivered, holiday merchandise is getting unpacked, and everything on the farm is getting that final holiday polish.
Our choose and cut tree fields have taken a hit over the past few years. We are in a serious drought and the trees are not growing fast enough. (Unfortunately, we don’t have irrigation in many of our tree fields.) Due to the lack of water, fields that were planted to be ready for 2024 are still two years off and our young trees are struggling to survive. It is devastating for us to have less selection for you to cut, but we are taking care of the trees and working on new ways to ensure survival of the young trees.
But not to put a damper on any spirits! We are getting decked out for the upcoming holiday season and we have imported a larger selection of pre-cut trees this year to make sure we have something for everyone. Looking forward to the most wonderful time of the year! See you soon.
